Jack is a licensed California Real Estate Broker, who has used his negotiating skills and marketing expertise for the benefit of his commercial real estate clients for over 35 years.
His wide range of real estate experience includes representing buyers and sellers, tenants and lessors in residential, commercial, and investment transactions. He has participated in the site selection, sale, and development of unimproved real estate, involving hearings and presentations before planning staff, planning commissions, city councils and county supervisors, for project approval. He has designed and implemented marketing plans for residential subdivisions and, as the leasing agent for retail shopping centers, has been closely involved in lease negotiations. These have included long term ground lease and build to suit lease transactions.
In addition to having a GRADUATE, REALTORS® INSTITUTE designation, Jack is a certified private postsecondary and vocational education instructor, qualified to teach all phases of real estate licensing, broker, continuing education and appraisal courses in the state of California. He has been a part time instructor for Kaplan Professional Schools since 1990 and is a contributing editor to the new student workbook, “California Real Estate Practice: Blueprint for Success,” published in 2007.
His community service includes membership in the San Rafael and Vallejo Chambers of Commerce. He is a past Chair of the San Rafael Chamber’s Ambassadors and has served as a fundraiser for the American Heart & Lung Association. He served as Secretary of the College of Marin Foundation Board and is a Director of the Santa Margarita Neighborhood Association and on the Board of Directors of the Summit Ridge HOA.
Jack brings a deep and practiced knowledge of real estate to his long-term active membership in the Marin Association of REALTORS® (MAR). He served as 2002 and 2013 President of MAR and has been co-chair and chairman of many committees, including Governmental Relations, Environment & Ecology, Strategic Planning and BORPAC. He served as Secretary and Team Leader of the 1988 San Rafael General Plan Review and has functioned as a director of the California Association of REALTORS®.
An award-winning public speaker, Jack’s lively and informative presentation skills serve him well as a member of the MAR Speakers Bureau. Raised in San Francisco, Jack has lived in Marin County since 1976.
His education includes courses in Mechanical Engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a degree in marketing from San Francisco State University. Jack lives in San Rafael and has one married son and two grandchildren.
